CBD Oil Tastes Different? Here’s Why…

Ever wonder why your CBD oil tastes or smells different every time – even when they’re from the same brand?

We sometimes get asked this and we understand why. You start using and enjoying a product, then when it runs out, you replace it – only it seems a little different.

Well, you don’t have to worry. CBD isn’t like your favourite shampoo brand that changes to a new formula and isn’t as good as before.

The fact that CBD oil can taste different each time is a good thing. Here’s why…

CBD oil is a 100% natural product and so variances in its appearance, taste, and smell are to be expected.

Because our CBD oil is extracted from organically grown hemp, free from GMOs and pesticides, variations are inevitable. In fact, it’s incredibly difficult to create the exact same product from different harvests.

Plus, full-spectrum CBD oil is a complex product. Each bottle has a unique combination of terpenes and cannabinoids which work together to produce the benefits we all know and love – as well as its specific taste.

Finally, here at Provacan we are always working hard to improve our formulation through extensive research and testing to produce the most potent and effective product in the market.

What makes CBD oil taste the way it does?

Cannabinoids like CBD and THC don’t actually have a distinctive taste or smell. That mostly comes from terpenes, compounds that are abundant in hemp and other plants, like herbs and fruit. You can thank terpenes the next time you’re enjoying the smell of lavender or peppermint. The bitter taste that you get from CBD oil and other natural products is likely to be from chlorophyll – the green pigment in plants responsible for photosynthesis. The darker the product, the more chlorophyll and the more bitter it will be.

All of Provacan’s oils are full spectrum CBD oils. This means that along with CBD, they contain all of the compounds found naturally in the hemp plant.

What if you really can’t stand the taste of CBD oil?

The taste isn’t for everyone. Most users tolerate the ‘earthy’ taste for the minute or two it lies under your tongue, but if that’s too much, you could try mixing it with food/drink or try gummies or capsules.

Just keep in mind that by digesting CBD, it does take longer to enter your bloodstream than when taken sublingually. You can rest assured that Provacan’s full-spectrum CBD oil has been extracted from organic, GMO-free hemp grown here in the EU.
